At this time Firefighter Aid Ukraine ("FFAU") is not sending volunteers to assist in Ukraine.

Your desire to assist your brothers and sisters in Ukraine is admirable, selfless, and brave. At this time, there has been no request from the State Emergency Services for volunteers to assist with fire or rescue events. Having been there several times, language, procedure, and equipment familiarity would all pose serious challenges to effectively assisting in an emergency scene.

We are asking our brothers and sisters around the world to consider assisting with the collection of high quality new and used rescue equipment/tools and PPE. We plan to continue to consolidate equipment and ship it to Ukraine. We are also accepting donations to purchase needed equipment, and medical supplies in discounted commercial quantities.

Again, thanks for reaching out. Our bond as firefighters and first responders compels us to want to help our brothers and sisters, and it is our nature to want to help communities, regardless of if they are our own, in times of need.
