FAQs

Where do your donations go?

100% of the donations aim to provide acutely-needed medical and humanitarian aid in war-impacted parts of Ukraine and cover the cost of delivering the cargo.

Charitable Donations

When you donate toward Alberta for Ukraine, you'll receive a charitable tax receipt from Amigo Relief Missions LTD. a registered not-for-profit (BN#866150816RR0001). Amigo Relief Mission is a parent organization of Firefighter Aid for Ukraine.

How will donations be spent?

All money goes towards purchasing emergency response equipment, medical supplies and high-value humanitarian aid for Ukraine. Firefighter Aid Ukraine does not charge administrative costs. It is 100% volunteer-run and has been committed to supporting Ukraine since its inception.

What is your procurement approach?

FFAU and AUCC will purchase as many supplies supplies at wholesale pricing from the Canadian distributors and manufacturers. Where it makes sense (due to weight or availability), FFAU will buy the supplies in Europe and distribute them through its trusted partner network.

How will the goods be distributed?

The supplies will be distributed through a trusted network of the Ukrainian State Emergency Departments in various regions. This distribution channel guarantees fast clearance at the border and full accountability through a Memorandum of Understanding between FFAU and Ivano Frankivsk State Emergency Department. The goods are signed off by pre-selected regions that require a donation acceptance letter with the complete list of items being sent for their use by Firefighter Aid Ukraine.
